The boswelic acids, which are obtained from the resin of the frankincense tree, are said to have a skin-smoothing, antiseptic and skin-soothing effect. They can also help inhibit skin inflammation and are recommended for the care of wrinkles in mature or dry skin.
Many infectious skin symptoms are triggered in the body by enzymes. Boswelic acids can react with these inflammatory enzymes and thus limit or even prevent the progression of skin infections.
